VBS 2009

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

This year's theme was entitled, Kingdom of the Son, and featured an African jungle and Amazon rainforest journey! All those fortunate to be able to attend this amazing event, learned all about how to use prayer to be our guide and then how to use this prayer power to guide others to the truth!

The experience was filled with energetic music brought by our new youth performing team, M.A.D.E. for Him, great snacks, great Bible Stories, crazy skits by our KidsTown Drama Team, funny puppets by Sammy and Slick and the Banana Cabana gang, and one very creative special guest performer named Joe Bruce.

VBS featured the talents of:

Joe Bruce

Joe is an exrtremely talented children's speaker and ventriloquist. He has the unique ability to engage all ages with his wonderful programs that blend many talents into a cohesive story. Joe not only is a talented ventriloquist but also uses his artistic abilities to draw and illustrate, tell stories and create balloon figures to his many fans. He has spoken all over the country at many children's events including camps, schools, churches, fairs and libraries.

For our VBS, we were treated to several awesome shows featuring his fun friends, Lucy, Ricardo, and YouCan Toucan. Joe also tangled with a wild animal balloon and drew on a board that talked!

Joshua Rueda, Kendall Wilkerson

These two special young people came all the way from Texas and teamed up with our very own Matthew Chandler to showcase their puppetry talents in this year's puppet show that featured three zany monkeys in their stage show, The Banana Cabana (well actually, one monkey, a gorilla, and a chimpanzee as they would argue). Despite Coconette, Duke, and Really's monkeying around, they had a very important message that they shared with the boys and girls about the true King Jesus. Our puppet team also brought down the house with the now, much talked about, Great Wading Pool Race featuring Slick the supersonic snail and Sammy the Turbo powered turtle.

Opening Night PreShow!

For our first night of VBS, we often like to start early and kickoff with a special guest in a pre-show. This year, we brought in David Stewart from Animal Alley Ministries with all his live animals. David shared with the boys and girls all about the true Creator of the creation!

Where can I buy the actual audio music tracks from the VBS Rally songs?

All the songs were individually selected and mixed together, so there is not an official VBS music cd that we can legally sell, however, you can contact Pastor Josh and he will be glad to share with you where a particular song came from and how you can get your own copy.
