High Point Camp

For those new to the summer camp experience, High Point Camp is a church owned and operated facility in Geigertown, Pennsylvania. They have a special speaker for the week named Ed Dunlop. Ed is a professional ventriloquist, and has been in fulltime children’s ministry for more than 30 years. They are a fully staffed and very professionally run camp with top-notch leaders and facilities. The activities the children engage in all week are very numerous including: swimming, horseback riding, crafts, archery, table game tournaments, zip line, the lake blob, water mats, Bible time, team games, and one crazy game of tradition called "fishes and eels."

Each year, Capital Baptist Church rents a charter bus and along with Pastor Josh and two female assistants, head up to camp for one week of the summer. Pastor stays all week posts things to the High Point Camp Facebook page about the kids' experiences. He has also blogged in the past and you can read about previous years and what has happened at camp here: http://athighpointcamp.blogspot.com/. The Facebook page is "At High Point Camp." (there is also an official camp page that is connected to the camp and is not affiliated with the church. It is just "High Point Camp.")

For many children, summer camp is a time that changes their lives forever! They make lifelong commitments to God and ministry from their experiences at camp. Your child is sure to enjoy this exciting week of camp at High Point.

Dates for Summer Camp this year are June 29 - July 3, Monday morning 9am-Friday evening 9pm. Summer Camp has sold out before. There are a limited number of seats on the bus. Please register early to insure you get a spot! There is only room for 53 campers. You not considered registered until all registration information is complete and the camp registration fee has been paid in full (or scholarshiped).

For kids that will be entering the 3rd grade in the Fall through all kids that will be entering the 7th grade in the Fall are eligible for kids' camp!
If your child is going into the 8th grade or higher, please contact Pastor Mike Bailey about Youth Camp at mbailey@capitalbaptist.org or go to his website: http://unifiyouth.com.

If your child is grade eligible and wishes to attend, you will need to get the registration form that is included within the HPC brochure and fill out the inside. Don't forget to have your child sign in their designated spot! Make sure you also fill out every line. Many people skip lines because of the color scheme. Brochure is downloadable below. Any missing required info such as complete insurance co. info or signatures will cause the form to be returned and delay the registration process. Delays past the May 31st deadline will incur a $25 late fee!

REGISTRATION

There are no pre-registration deposits accepted to reserve a camp spot. Also no registration forms will be collected unless it is accompanied with full camp payment or with the final instalment of a payment plan. No one will be considered registered for camp until full payment and a completely filled out registration and medical forms and copy of an insurance card have been received. You may still pay out your balance in instalments, however, we will not be accepting any registration information until all funds have been paid first. Return the completed forms, camp payment, and a copy of your family or child's medical insurance card to either Pastor Josh or Norah Harmon. Do not mail any paperwork directly to HPC! You do not need to submit the copy of insurance or the medical form if you have attended in the past and no information has changed from last year. We will have you on file.

PAYMENT

The registration fee for camp 2015 is $325. The camp does still offer the "multiple child discount." If you register a second child, there is a $20 discount for the second child. If you register a third child, there is a $50 discount for the third child (in addition to the $20 off for the second child) and there is a $75 discount for four or more children (plus the other discounts).
The registration fee covers the camp fee, the travel expense, a camp t-shirt, and a camp highlight dvd!! The only additional money you will have to provide after the registration fee, will be whatever spending money for the snack shop/crafts you decided to send with your child.

Cash, money orders, personal checks, Paypal, or credit cards accepted. You can send direct payment via Paypal by utilizing the Pay Now tab in the green sidebar on this site. Please make checks payable to Capital Baptist Church NOT High Point Camp or Pastor Josh. If you wish to mail in your registration and payment, our mailing address is 3504 Gallows Rd, Annandale, VA 22003. Please mail to the attn: Josh Baker. You can not mail in credit card information. Credit card payment can be made by seeing Pastor Josh. Do not mail any payments directly to HPC or use the online giving kiosk at the main Capital Baptist Church website for payments. The giving kiosk only has the ability to accept scholarship donations. If you pay using either a credit card or the online Paypal option there is a $10 additional fee due to the convenience service for this. You can avoid this charge by paying with either a personal check, money order, or cash.

DEADLINES

Take your time looking over the material, but don't wait too long if you decide to go! The deadline for registering is May 31, if camp (or the bus) doesn't fill up first! We will accept late registrations past this day, but the cost of camp jumps beginning Monday June 1 and so any registrations received on this day or up until the final cutoff which is June 7 will incur a $25 additional late fee. In some years we max out on our bus transportation capabilities. There are only 53 spots and we will only be able to take registrations as long as there are still openings. The sooner we receive your registration form and full payment, the sooner you can be assured of a camp spot! If you are applying for a camp financial scholarship, you must register by May 31st to insure we have adequate time to fundraise for your need. No scholarship requests will be accpeted after this date and no regular registrations will be accepted past June 7. Any registrations received or incomplete past the June 7 deadline are void.

One parent or guardian of any first time campers must attend our mandatory meeting to be adequately prepared for camp. This is not optional. The date for this year's meeting is June 14 from 5-6pm in Room 109 (All Star) at the end of the Mainstreet hallway. If you are a returning camper you do not need to attend this meeting, however, you do still need to download the updated camp info sheets for any changes made from the previous year. There are two: "What to Bring" and "Important Camp Instructions." Both are downloadable at the bottom of this page.

ADDITIONAL INFO
For the trip up, each camper needs to bring their own sack lunch as we will be stopping at a park to eat. Please make sure everything is either edible or disposable. Do not pack the lunch in coolers or lunch pails. We will provide large coolers to place the lunches in to keep cool on the way up. There will also be a separate cooler for those children who have food allergies. For the return trip, the campers will receive dinner at the camp before departure. No packed lunch or meal money is needed.
