Easter Weekend 2009

Here at Capital, there is a lot of great stuff that goes on during Easter!

First, is our Passion Play, The Day He Wore My Crown. It is a spectacular re-enactment of the final days of Christ. It features incredbile actors, live animals, an amazing set, and incredible music. The experience has changed countless lives!

As part of our special Easter Weekend Services, a group of girls from our PreTeen and Teen Ministries joined together to offer a special new performance of a never before seen ministry featuring a dramatic musical interpretation known as "God Rods." The inspiring and captivating experience moved many to strong emotions of tears and applause and some standing ovation. The team's song Arise My Love was a perfect reminder of what Christ has done for us all and that we remember so vividly at Easter. May we never forget that the grave could not hold the King!

In our children's ministry, we featured one of our famous BIG Shows. These occur about three times a year and in the past have included spiritual re-writes on the well-known stories of Wizard of Oz, Narnia:The Lion,the Witch, and the Wardrobe; and The Polar Express. This year's Easter special was a spiritual re-write of the classic Disney tale entitled, Bedknobs and Broomsticks. Our tale was entitled, Bedknobs and BibleStories. In our three offered productions, aproximately 200 people were treated to a special tale about three orphans who discover a Heavenly Father that does love them through the magic of an old book and a traveling bed with a loose knob.

Our 9:30 Easter Sunday Service also featured a record number of children and adults being baptized, showing to all in attendance, their decision to follow Christ. Praise the Lord!
