Upward Cheerleading

Upward Basketball and Cheerleading Sports give children the opportunity to become a part of a program that promotes teamwork, physical development, and most importantly, the idea that every child is a winner.

Upward's philosophy on sports is very unique! Read about Upward's purpose here: Upward's Values

We are not planning on conducting a Winter Cheerleading Squad this year. We encourage you to still enroll in this great program as there are several other churches in the area that will be offering Upward!

You can go online at Upward.org and type in your zip code to find a squad in your area. Here are some others currently available:

TOP FAQ's
(frequently asked questions)

1. Why Upward Cheerleading?
Link: answer

2. How much does it cost?
Last year the fee which included the uniform, poms, and a turtleneck was $80. This year's price has not yet been determined. Expect a little raise due to rising costs of shipping and the economic effect.

3. When can I register?
When the next season is available. Please keep checking back here. A registration form will be posted here as soon as it becomes available. All participants from last year that are still eligible will also be mailed a registration form to the address we have on file from last season.

4. What if I miss the registration deadline?
You can still participate, but your daughter will most likely miss the first weekend cheer after registering due to the time it will take to order and receive her uniform. If you wish to pay the extra shipping costs to expedite her uniform, we are more than happy to do so within reason.

5. What are the age requirements?
Upward Cheerleading is open to all 1st - 6th grade girls. Please do not ask us to bend these rules by asking us to allow someone too young or too old to participate.

6. How much time commitment is involved?
Upward Cheerleading meets one night during the week (either Wednesday or Thursday) for one hour from 7-8pm and then they perform during one or two of the basketball games each Saturday around 10 or 11 am.

7. How do I fluff a pom pom?

8. I know that it takes people to make any program great and I'd be willing to support the coach in any way needed so that my daughter has an awesome experience! I'd email the coach and let her know this if I had her email!
