One of Capital's Annual Outreach Events each year is its July 4th weekend festival. This year, the event was held Sunday afternoon June 29th after the morning services.
Our featured guest performers were Ned and Joan Way along with their son William and performing partner, Marcus Perry. Their travel show is called Kids' Fest. The Ways feature spectacular illusions, prizes, contests, great music, juggling, and a wild west show! The Ways are professional illusionists and jugglers having performed for Ringling Brother's/Barnum and Bailey Circus, Disneyland, Disney World, and the Billy Graham Crusade.The event also featured a fried chicken cookoff and a desert contest. Other edibles included popcorn, cotton candy, giant pretzels, and snow cones. Music was provided by the Kings Park Band. Outside entertainment for kids included pony rides, a dunk tank, slip n' slide, preschool obstacle course, bucking bull, climbing wall, moonbounce, rain room, ultimate obstacle course, and face painting.
