Fall Festival '08

Despite the rain on the last Saturday of October, we were not deterred from offering our church family and the community another great time to gather together and fellowship in fun with fellow believers and friends of the community.

Even though we were not able to have the ferris wheel and our inflatable obstacle course, we still managed to raise our giant sports game inflatable to the rafters of our gymnasium and we even got our inflatable joust set up in the church foyer! (that was a new one on us) We also managed to squeek in a few hayrides and pig scrambles. The BBQ and chili cookoff were not deterred as we made room for over twenty pots of home recipie chilis and set up a buffet line featuring smoked brisquet from staff member, Dirk Lieb. The "show must go on" award went to staff member, Chuck Dubbe for his efforts at still running with the pigs even in the rain. Kudos also goes to the brave challengers who came away with one of the rare and coveted pig toys.

Even though outside activity was very limited, inside was jamed packed with tons of booths in which a child could win loads of candy and trinket prizes. The hottest booth this year was the Face Painting where kids could get beautiful artwork on their faces or fun little tatoo-like paintings on their arms or cheeks. Also widely popular was the return of Dance Dance Revolution with a new Disney game twist. Also back by popular demand was the OuterSpace Craft Room and the giant mini golf booth. New on the scene was the wild and crazy Superhero Booth and the Western area, complete with jail.
